NEET 2026 results are out, and if you've cleared the exam, congratulations! The next important step is NEET Counselling — and being prepared with the right documents can make all the difference. At Om Educare, we've guided hundreds of students through this process, and one of the most common reasons for delays or rejections is incomplete paperwork.

Here's a clear, complete list of documents you need to keep ready before you appear for NEET Counselling 2026.

1. NEET 2026 Admit Card

Your NEET admit card is a mandatory document at every stage of counselling. Keep both a physical printout and a digital copy handy.

2. NEET 2026 Scorecard / Rank Letter

The official NEET 2026 result and rank letter issued by NTA (National Testing Agency) is required to verify your eligibility for seat allotment.

3. Class 10 Certificate and Marksheet

This is required to verify your date of birth. Ensure you carry the original along with two to three self-attested photocopies.

4. Class 12 Certificate and Marksheet

Your Class 12 (or equivalent) marksheet is essential to confirm that you meet the minimum qualifying marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as required by MCI/NMC norms.

5. Identity Proof

Any one of the following government-issued photo IDs:

  • Aadhaar Card
  • Passport
  • Voter ID
  • PAN Card
  • Driving License

6. Passport Size Photographs

Carry at least 8 to 10 recent passport size photographs with a white background. These are required at multiple stages — registration, document verification, and college reporting.

7. Category Certificate (if applicable)

Students applying under reserved categories must carry a valid caste or category certificate:

  • SC/ST Certificate – issued by the competent authority
  • OBC-NCL Certificate – must be issued in the current financial year
  • EWS Certificate – Income and Asset Certificate for Economically Weaker Section
  • PwD Certificate – issued by a government hospital/medical board

8. Domicile / State Residence Certificate

For State Quota seats, a valid domicile certificate issued by the state government is mandatory. This proves you are a resident of the state you are applying under.

9. Nationality Certificate / Birth Proof

Indian citizenship proof may be required, especially for NRI or OCI candidates. For regular Indian students, Aadhaar or a passport usually serves this purpose.

10. Transfer Certificate (TC)

A Transfer Certificate from your Class 12 school may be asked for during final admission at the college level.

11. Migration Certificate

Required at the time of college admission to confirm that you are moving from your previous institution or board.

12. Character Certificate

A character certificate from your last attended school or institution is typically required during admission.

13. Medical Fitness Certificate

Some colleges require a medical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner confirming that you are physically fit for the MBBS/BDS/BSc Nursing programme.

Important Tips from Om Educare

  • Always carry originals plus at least 4–5 self-attested photocopies of every document.
  • Check the official MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) website regularly for updates on counselling rounds and document requirements.
  • OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must be recent — certificates older than one financial year are typically not accepted.
  • Keep a dedicated folder with all documents organized in sequence to avoid last-minute panic.
  • For State Quota counselling, check your respective state counselling authority's website as document requirements may vary slightly by state.
