Organized by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, Assam NEET PG counselling 2026 serves as the single-window admission authority for postgraduate medical seats in government medical institutions across the state. The admission framework operates strictly under the Medical Colleges of Assam PG Admission Rules 2021, offering MD, MS, and Diploma admissions to candidates who meet NBE qualifying cut-offs. The selection matrix integrates overall entrance performance along with institutional service incentives for rural and remote postings, maintaining a clear merit-based pathway for PG aspirants.

Eligibility Criteria

• Qualified NEET PG 2026.
• Indian nationals, PIOs, or OCI candidates are eligible.
• MBBS degree recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or NMC.
• Completed compulsory 12-month rotatory internship.
• Assam domicile or MBBS degree from a Govt. Medical College in Assam.
• Valid registration with AMC or NMC.
• In-Service: 1+ year service in remote/difficult areas gives up to 9% bonus marks.

Medical Registration Certificate (Permanent or Provisional - NMC / State Council)

Assam Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) / Domicile Certificate

Remote & Difficult Area Service Certificate (Appendix-II) (If claiming Incentive marks)

3. Category & Personal Proofs

Caste / Category Certificate (SC, ST, OBC/MOBC Non-Creamy Layer, EWS - If applicable)

Valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, or Driving License)

Passport-size Photographs (8-10 recent copies)

How to apply

Register: Go to dme.assam.gov.in, click on the NEET-PG Counselling link, and create your login using your NEET-PG Roll Number.

Fill Form & Upload Documents: Log in and upload your NEET-PG Scorecard, MBBS Degree, Internship Certificate, Medical Registration, Assam PRC, Category Certificate, and Appendix-II (if applicable).

Pay Fee & Submit: Pay the registration fee online and download the confirmation page.

Choice Filling: Select and lock your preferred colleges and courses before the deadline.

Reporting: Download the allotment letter, report to the assigned college for document verification, and pay the admission fee.
