NEW DELHI: Lockdown 4.0 was declared on May 18, 2020 with no allowance on travel especially abroad. With the announcement of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) date, which is July 26, 2020, NEET aspirants located abroad see no possibility of traveling down to India to answer the single national level medical entrance examination for undergraduate courses held once a year. Thus, such candidates have requested the National Testing Agency (NTA) to enable the facility of NEET exam centers in UAE.
Hundreds of Indian origin candidates residing in the United Arab Emirates register for NEET every year. In a general scenario, they choose their hometown/city as their priority for the allocation of test centers. However, this year due to the ruckus created with the outbreak of COVID-19 candidates see very less possibility for themselves to fly down to India to appear for the test. Since NEET 2020 will be conducted in pen-paper mode, aspirants from UAE have requested the authorities to consider having a test center in UAE.
