Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility is divided into distinct categories based on your residency and schooling.

Domicile (Local) Candidates

To be considered a "Local" of DNH & DD, you typically need to satisfy one of the following:

  • Continuous Residence: Minimum of 10 years of continuous residence in the UT (DNH or DD).
  • Schooling: Completion of Class 10 and Class 12 from a recognized school located within the UT.
  • Exemption (Employment): Children of UT administration employees or Central Government employees posted in the UT for at least 5 years.

Other States (All India/Outside) Candidates

  • Medical: Only available if you qualify for the All India Quota (15%) via MCC counseling, or if seats remain vacant after the UT merit list is exhausted.

  • Technical: Admissions for "Other States" are generally limited to specific quotas or private/self-financed seats, provided you have a valid JEE Main score (for B.E.) or relevant entrance merit.


3. Reservations

The UT follows Central Government reservation norms, with specific weightage for local tribal populations:

  • ST (Scheduled Tribes): High percentage of seats are reserved for local tribal candidates.

  • SC (Scheduled Castes): As per UT norms.

  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Must have a certificate issued specifically by the UT administration.
  • EWS & PwD: Horizontal reservation as per national guidelines.

Document Required

You must have scanned copies for the online application and originals for physical verification:

  • NEET/JEE Scorecard & Admit Card (as applicable).
  • Class 10th & 12th Marksheets and Passing Certificates.
  • Domicile Certificate (issued by the Mamlatdar/Collector of DNH/DD).
  • Caste/Category Certificate (must be the UT-specific format for local quota).
  • School Leaving Certificate (TC) from the last attended school.

  • Identity Proof: Aadhaar Card or Voter ID.

  • Passport Size Photographs (same as used in the entrance exam application).

How to apply

The process is entirely digital and follows these stages:

  1. Online Registration: Visit the relevant official portal (VBCH for Medical, DHTE for Engineering) and create a login ID using your roll number and email.
  2. Form Filling: Enter personal details, educational qualifications, and residency information.
  3. Document Upload: Upload scanned copies of the documents mentioned above.

  4. Merit List Publication: The administration will release a Provisional Merit List. Check for your rank and any discrepancies.

  5. Choice Filling: Log in to select your preferred colleges and courses in order of priority.
  6. Seat Allotment: Based on your rank and choices, a seat will be allotted. You will receive an Allotment Letter.
  7. Reporting & Admission: Visit the allotted college within the specified timeframe to pay fees and verify original documents to finalize admission.
