Sikkim NEET UG Counselling 2026: Dates, Registration, Choice Filling, &More!

The counselling for the 85% State Quota seats is managed by the Sikkim state authorities. For SMIMS, seats are typically divided into:

Sikkim Government Quota: Reserved for local candidates.

Management Quota: Open to candidates from all over India.

North East Quota: Reserved for students from other NE states.

Eligibility Criteria

Domicile (Local Candidates)

Must be a Sikkim Subject/Certificate of Identification (COI) holder.

Candidates must have a Domicile Certificate issued by the District Collector of Sikkim.

Academic: Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB), and English.

Minimum Marks: 50% for General, 40% for SC/ST/OBC in PCB.

Other States (Management Quota)

Open to all Indian Nationals who have qualified for NEET UG 2026.

Candidates from other states are eligible for the Management Quota seats at SMIMS.

Academic requirements remain the same (50% PCB for General).

Admissions for MBBS in Sikkim are primarily conducted through the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), under the Education Department of the Government of Sikkim. The primary medical college in the state is the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIMS).

How to apply

Notification: Released on the official Sikkim Education Department or SMIMS website.

Online Registration: Candidates must register and pay the non-refundable fee (approx. β‚Ή500 - β‚Ή1,000).

Document Verification: Usually held offline at the Education Department (Gangtok) for local candidates.

Merit List: The state releases a category-wise merit list based on NEET scores.

Choice Filling: Candidates lock their preference for seat categories.

Seat Allotment: Allotment is done based on rank and reservation.

Reporting: Candidates report to SMIMS with the allotment letter and fees to finalize admission.
