Uttarakhand NEET UG Counselling 2026: Dates (Soon), Registration, Choice Filling, &More!

The Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna (HNB) Uttarakhand Medical Education University, Dehradun, conducts the centralised counselling for all available MBBS and BDS seats in Government and Private Medical/Dental colleges of Uttarakhand for the 2026-27 academic session.

The process covers the following seat categories:

State Quota Seats: In Government Medical Colleges and Private Medical/Dental Colleges.

All India Open Quota Seats: In Private Medical and Dental Colleges.

Admission Basis: Selection is based on the merit of the NEET UG-2026 examination and fulfillment of eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria

For State Quota Seats

To be eligible for State Quota seats, a candidate must be an Indian citizen and meet one of the following criteria:

Domicile/Permanent Residents of Uttarakhand who passed both High School (10th) and Intermediate (10+2) from recognized institutions within Uttarakhand.

Non-Domiciles who passed both High School (10th) and Intermediate (10+2) from recognized institutions within Uttarakhand (Note: These candidates are not eligible for any reservation).

Domicile/Permanent Residents of Uttarakhand who passed High School and/or Intermediate from institutions outside the state.

For All India Open Quota Seats (Private Colleges)

Eligibility is open to candidates regardless of domicile, provided they fulfill the age criteria and have qualified for NEET UG-2026

State Quota candidates are also eligible for these seats if they pay the required security deposit.

Academic & Age Requirements

Subjects: Must pass Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology, and English individually.

Minimum Marks (Aggregate in PCB): 50% for General/EWS, 40% for SC/ST/OBC, and 45% for General-PH/EWS-PH.

Age: Must comply with the latest guidelines issued by NTA/NMC/Government of India.

3. Reservation Policy

Reservations apply only to State Quota seats and are implemented college-wise:

Vertical Reservation: For SC, ST, and OBC candidates of Uttarakhand.

Horizontal Reservation: Includes Persons with Disabilities (PwD) (4% seats) and Wards of Defence Personnel (DPW) (specifically dependents of Ex-servicemen only).

Wards of Kashmiri Migrants (WKM): One reserved seat in each Government Medical College. Uttarakhand domicile is not mandatory for this specific benefit.

Note: Candidates claiming reservation must upload valid category and domicile certificates issued by the Uttarakhand State Government. OBC certificates are valid for only three years from the date of issue

Document Required

Candidates must produce the following original documents at the time of admission

Copy of Allotment Letter.

Proof of payment of centralized advance tuition fee.

High School (10th) Certificate (for age proof).

Intermediate (10+2) Certificate and Mark sheet.

NEET UG 2026 Admit Card and Result/Rank Letter.

Uttarakhand Domicile Certificate (if applicable).

Category/Sub-category/PwD/WKM Certificates (if applicable).

Valid ID Proof (Aadhaar, Passport, etc.).

Remaining tuition/hostel fees via Demand Draft.

How to apply

The registration and choice-filling process is conducted online only at www.hnbumu.ac.in.

Application Steps:

Registration: Enter NEET UG 2026 details and a valid mobile number to receive an OTP.

Form Filling: Complete the application, upload a photograph and signature (same as used in the NEET application), and provide bank details for potential refunds.

Fee Payment: Pay the non-refundable registration fee and the refundable security money online.

Choice Filling: Select preferred colleges and courses in order of preference. Candidates can give as many choices as they wish.

Saving & Locking: Save the entries and Lock the form. If choices are saved but not locked, they will auto-lock at the deadline.

Printout: Take a hard copy of the submitted form for future reference.

Round-Specific Rules:

Round I: A "Free Exit" round. If allotted a seat but the candidate does not join, they are not penalized and can enter subsequent rounds.

Rounds II & III: "Exit with Forfeiture." If a new seat is allotted and the candidate does not join, the security money is forfeited.

Upgradation: Candidates allotted seats in Round I or II can opt for seat upgradation in later rounds.

All payments must be made via Net Banking, Credit, or Debit card.
