The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot is the authorized body to conduct centralized counselling for admissions to all MBBS and BDS seats in Government and Private Medical/Dental Institutes across Punjab.
Basis of Admission: All admissions are based strictly on the merit of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG-2026).
Scope: This includes Government Quota, Management Quota, NRI Quota, and Minority Quota seats in all institutes, including those under Private Universities and Minority Institutions.
Centralized Process: The University conducts centralized online counselling for all seats except the 15% All India Quota.
Authority: The University is committed to transparency and follows standards set by statutory bodies such as the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the Dental Council of India (DCI)
To be eligible for the Punjab State Quota, a candidate must be a Citizen of India and fulfill one of the following:
Educational: Passed 10+1 and 10+2 from the state of Punjab.
Birth: Born in the state of Punjab.
Permanent Residence: Must be a "Permanent Resident" of Punjab.
Definition of "Permanent Resident" includes:
Candidates who studied in Punjab for 5 years or for 2 years just preceding the qualifying examination.
Children/wards of Punjab Government employees (posted in or outside Punjab) with at least 3 years of service.
Children/wards of Central Government employees or employees of autonomous bodies/companies (with 20% Punjab Govt. share) who have served in Punjab for at least 3 years.
Children/wards of Punjab Government pensioners, regardless of where they settled after retirement.
Children/wards of persons who settled in Punjab or resided there for at least 5 years at any time prior to the application.
Candidates from other states are generally not eligible for the State Quota, except in specific cases:
BDS Course: If an adequate number of Punjab-eligible candidates is not available for the BDS course, candidates who are not eligible for the state quota may be considered.
NRI Category: Candidates seeking admission under the 15% NRI Quota.
Minority Quota: Candidates belonging to minority communities competing for minority seats in specific institutions.

Candidates must upload or produce the following original documents for verification:
NEET-UG-2026 Result/Scorecard.
Birth Certificate or Matriculation certificate for date of birth verification.
10+1 and 10+2 Certificates in the Medical stream.
Permanent Resident Certificate as per the prescribed format.
Reserve Category Certificate (if applicable) issued by the Competent Authority of Punjab.
Exemption Certificates for specific categories like Defence or Central Govt. employees.
Gap in Study Self-Undertaking (Annexure-IV) if there was a break after 10+2.
Sworn Declarations by parents/guardians and the student regarding Punjab domicile and state quota claims (Annexures V & VI).
Photographs: Soft copy of a color photograph (max 30 KB) with at least 75% face coverage, a white background, and a caption with the candidate's name and the date taken.
Access: Go to www.bfuhs.ac.in and click the link for the MBBS/BDS-2026 application.
Registration: Fill in personal details, NEET-UG-2026 roll number, marks, and category codes.
Uploads: Upload the soft copies of your photograph and signature.
Bank Details: Provide correct bank account details and upload a cancelled cheque for potential refunds.
Verification: After successful registration, use your Registration ID (Login ID) and Password to log in to the Dashboard.
Choices: Complete the application summary (Step 1), then proceed to "Fill/Edit Choices" (Step 2) to select colleges in order of preference.
Locking: The form will automatically lock after the due date; ensure all details are correct before then, as no changes are permitted thereafter.
Provisional Allotment: Seats are allotted based on NEET merit and the candidate's submitted preferences.
Tuition Fee Deposition: Candidates must deposit the six-month tuition fee through the University Payment Gateway.
Physical Reporting: Candidates report to the allotted college for verification of original documents and a medical examination.
Final Joining: If found eligible, the Principal allows the candidate to join the course.
