Goa NEET UG Counselling 2026: Dates, Registration, Choice Filling, &More!

The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Goa, is the authority responsible for processing admissions to the First Year of Professional Degree courses, including MBBS.

Admission Committee: The process is overseen by an Admission Committee chaired by the Director of Technical Education.

Centralized Process: Counseling is conducted through rounds of admissions at the Admission Centre located at the Directorate of Technical Education, Alto-Porvorim, Goa.

Merit Basis: Admissions are strictly based on the merit list prepared using NEET UG-2026 scores/rank.

Notifications: All schedules, eligibility lists, and merit lists are notified on the official DTE website: www.dte.goa.gov.in.

Eligibility Criteria

Domicile (State Quota)

To be eligible for the State Quota MBBS seats at Goa Medical College (GMC), an applicant must fulfill the following:

Nationality: Must be an Indian National.

Residence: Must have resided in Goa for a minimum continuous period of 10 years (5 years if a parent/grandparent was born in Goa) immediately preceding the application.

Education: Must have studied and passed the HSSC (Std. XII) or equivalent examination from schools/colleges in Goa.

Age: Must have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31, 2026.

Entrance Test: Must have a valid NEET UG-2026 score.

Academic Minimums: Must have passed HSSC with English and secured at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (40% for SC/ST/OBC and 45% for PwD).

Other States (OGA) / All India Quota

All India Quota (AIQ): 30 seats are reserved for the All India Quota, filled as per directives from the NMC/DGHS.

Category 12 (OGA): Applicants from other states who passed their qualifying exam outside Goa are only considered for seats that remain vacant after all candidates from Categories 1 to 11 have been admitted.

3. Reservations and Required Documents

Reservations (MBBS Specific)

The distribution for the 170 State Quota seats includes:

SC: 03 seats

ST: 17 seats

OBC: 39 seats

EWS: 17 seats

Other Categories: PwD (05 General, 01 ST, 02 OBC), CSP (05), ESM (02), FF (02), and NRI (02).

Essential Documents for Counseling

Applicants must provide self-attested photocopies with the application and produce originals during the admission round:

NEET UG-2026 Result/Rank Card

HSSC (Std. XII) Marks Sheet.

Birth Certificate.

Residence Certificate from the Mamlatdar (minimum 10 years) or Bonafide Student Certificate.

Leaving/Transfer Certificate from the last school attended

Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC) from the Dy. Collector, if applicable.

Income & Assets Certificate for EWS or Income Certificate for fee concessions.

Aadhaar Card copy.

Passport size photographs (taken within last 3 months).

How to apply

Candidates must follow these steps for the session 2026-2027:

Step 1: Obtain the Prospectus/Form: Download and print Application Form A from the DTE website.

Step 2: Pay Application Fee: Remit the fee of Rs. 2,000/- through the approved mode (Online/POS/DD) and keep the receipt.

Step 3: Fill the Form: Complete the form in your own handwriting, ensuring you write "YES" in the box for NEET-based courses.

Step 4: Submission: Submit the completed form along with self-attested documents at the designated Application Receiving Centres by the notified deadline.

Step 5: Verify Eligibility: Check the eligibility list on the DTE website for any objections or shortfalls.

Step 6: Merit List: Monitor the website for the Provisional Merit List and verify your position.

Step 7: Attend Counseling: Report in person to the Admission Centre at DTE Porvorim as per the schedule with the Acknowledgement Card, original documents, and fees.
