The West Bengal Medical Counseling Committee (WBMCC) conducts online counseling for qualified NEET UG 2026 candidates seeking admission to Under Graduate Medical (MBBS) and Dental (BDS) seats. This process covers:
State Quota seats in Government and Private colleges.
Management Quota seats in Private colleges.
NRI Quota seats in Private Medical colleges.
To participate in the State Quota, the candidate or their parent(s) must be a domicile of West Bengal. Domicile is categorized into three types:
Proforma a1: Candidates residing in West Bengal for at least 10 years, who passed Class 10 and 12 from the state.
Proforma a2: Candidates residing in the state for at least 10 years , who passed their 10+2 examination from West Bengal in 2026.
Proforma b: Candidates not residing in West Bengal for 10 years (passed Class 10 or 12 outside the state), but whose parent(s) are permanent residents of the state and have lived there for at least 10 years .
Candidates who are not domicile in West Bengal are eligible for Management Quota seats in Private Medical/Dental colleges.
Domicile certificates are not required for admission under the Management Quota.
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT:-
10+2 Marks: Candidates must pass Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB), and English individually. The minimum aggregate marks in PCB are:
UR/EWS: 50%.
SC/ST/OBC/PwD: 40%.
Caste Categories: Reservation applies to SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, and EWS candidates domicile in West Bengal with valid certificates issued by the state.
Out-of-State Caste Certificates: Candidates with reserved category certificates from other states will be treated as Unreserved (UR) for West Bengal State Quota counseling.
OBC NCL: OBC-A and OBC-B candidates must provide a Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate.
PwD: Candidates with 21 benchmark disabilities as per the "Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016" are considered, provided they have a certificate from the Medical Board of IPGME&R Kolkata.
Management Quota: No caste or PwD reservations exist for Management Quota seats; allotment is based purely on NEET UG 2026 merit.
Candidates must produce original documents and self-attested photocopies for verification:
Mandatory for all: Candidate Profile Letter, Payment Receipt, NEET UG 2026 Admit Card, NEET UG 2026 Rank Card, Age Proof, Class 10+2 Mark Sheet, and Medical Fitness Certificate .
For State Quota: Domicile Certificate (a1, a2, b, or e-district).
For Proforma b/Parent Domicile: Any two original IDs of the parent (Voter ID, Aadhaar, or Passport) showing a West Bengal address.
Category specific: Caste Certificate (issued in WB) and PwD Certificate from IPGME&R Kolkata.
Website: Applications must be submitted through https://wbmcc.nic.in.
Registration: Use NEET UG 2026 Roll No, Application No, Name, Motherβs Name, and Date of Birth.
Data Matching: The system matches records with NTA data before allowing registration to proceed.
Modifications: Candidates can use "Registration Unlocking" or "Reset Application" buttons to correct errors before final submission and payment.
Caution: Once the fee is paid, no further unlocking or registration changes are permitted
Online Registration & Fee Payment: Candidates register and pay a non-refundable fee (Rs. 2000 for UR, Rs. 1500 for reserved/PwD).
Candidate Profile Generation: A profile letter is generated, indicating the date, time, and venue for physical verification.
Physical Document Verification (Pre-Choice Filling): Mandatory attendance at a designated college with original documents.
Choice Filling & Locking: Successfully verified candidates fill their preferred college choices online and must lock them.
Seat Allotment: Allotment is processed based on inter se merit and locked choices.
Final Verification & Admission: Allotted candidates undergo a second round of verification at the allotted college and secure admission by paying fees
