Punjab NEET PG Counselling 2026: Dates (Soon), Registration, Choice Filling, &More!

INTRODUCTION

Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot was established in 1998 by the Government of Punjab to promote medical education, training, and research in the field of health sciences. The University serves as an affiliating and examining body for various health sciences institutions and works towards improving the quality of medical education and healthcare in Punjab.

The University provides an academic and research environment for students and professionals and focuses on postgraduate medical education and research. It has developed various educational, healthcare, and research facilities and continues to work towards strengthening health sciences education and services in the state.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma, DNB, PG Diploma in Sports Medicine (PGDSM), and Six-Month Training in Ultrasonography  is open to candidates who have qualified NEET-PG 2026.
  • Candidates must fulfill the eligibility requirements prescribed through the Punjab Government notifications, including any subsequent amendments or corrigenda.
  • Candidates must possess the required basic qualification, i.e. an MBBS degree, for admission to the applicable postgraduate medical courses.
  • Merely qualifying NEET-PG 2026 or having a NEET-PG rank does not automatically guarantee admission. The eligibility and merit of the candidate will be determined by the Admission Committee at the time of reporting to the allotted college/hospital.
  • Admission and counselling will be conducted by the Admission Committee constituted by the Punjab Government for this purpose.
  • For Minority Quota seats, final eligibility will be determined by the respective minority institution according to the Punjab Government notifications and the rules and regulations followed by that institution.
  • Candidates must ensure that their MBBS degree is recognized as per the applicable medical education regulations.
  • Eligibility will also be verified at the time of document verification and joining at the allotted college/hospital. Candidates who do not fulfill the prescribed eligibility conditions will not be considered for admission.

    • Document Required

    Candidates allotted a seat are required to report to the allotted college/hospital with the following documents for verification:

  • Valid Identity Proof –  PAN Card, Driving Licence, Voter ID, Passport or Aadhaar Card.
  • Fee Payment Receipt –  Receipt/proof of deposition of the prescribed fee.
  • NEET-PG Admit Card – Admit card issued by NBE.
  • NEET-PG Result/Rank Letter – Result or rank letter issued by NBE.
  • Date of Birth Proof –   High School Certificate, Higher Secondary Certificate or Birth Certificate.
  • MBBS Mark Sheets – Mark sheets of all MBBS Professional Examinations.
  • MBBS Degree Certificate – Original MBBS Degree Certificate or Provisional Certificate.
  • Internship Completion Certificate –  Internship Completion Certificate or certificate issued by the Head of the Institution.
  • Medical Registration Certificate – Permanent or Provisional Registration Certificate issued by NMC/State Medical Council.
  • NOC for In-Service Candidates –  In-service candidates must produce a provisional No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the competent authority.
  • SC/BC Certificate –  Candidates claiming SC or BC reservation must produce the relevant certificate issued by the competent authority of Punjab. The BC certificate must be in the prescribed format mentioned in the prospectus.
  • Disability Certificate (PwD), if applicable – : . A Disability Certificate issued by a duly constituted and authorized Medical Board for the specified benchmark disabilities, as prescribed in the NEET-PG 2026 Information Bulletin.
  • Other Category Documents, if applicable –  Candidates claiming any reserved category must bring/submit the relevant supporting documents or proof for that category.
  • Original Documents and Photocopies –  Candidates must bring the required original documents for verification along with photocopies, wherever applicable.
  • Important: The provisional seat is subject to verification of the original documents and eligibility at the allotted college/hospital

    How to apply

    The entire applying process can be best explained by the following steps mentioned below.

    Step-1: Counselling Registration through Online

    Admission Seekers can apply online mode by visiting the website- https://bfuhs.ac.in/

    1. For registration, seekers will use their NEET PG roll no. and email registration in NEET PG(NEET PG) and follow instructions on the screen.
    2. After that, the candidate’s NEET-PG registration details will be displayed.
    3. The exam qualify applicant will make an online payment. An SMS will be sent to their registered mobile no (used for NEET-PG registration) to confirm successful registration. The password you create at the time of registration, kindly note this password for choice filling.
    4. After successful payment, the candidate will get Transaction and Registration no. on their registered mobile number.

    Step-2: Online Security Money Payment

    1. Candidates willing to attend the counselling process to grab their PG Medical seat in the desired Medical College must pay the required Security money fees prescribed by the Directorate of Research & Medical Education, Punjab.
    2. After paying security money and the state merit list has been declared, the online seat choice filling option will be available as per the earlier schedule.
    3. The applicant would be able to take a printout of their online payment receipt.

    Step-3: Merit Declaration

    1. For Inter-se rank in State merit list, reference shall be NEET-PG
    2. The final merit list will be prepared per the provisions (Displayed on the website).

    Step-4: Online Choice filling

    Visit the website- https://bfuhs.ac.in/

    1. Click on choice filling.
    2. Choice Filling Procedure:
      – Login for choice filing by using your NEET roll number and password created at registration.
      – Choice filing can be done in several sessions but remember to save and continue; otherwise, you’ll lose your work.
      – The choice filling will not be complete until you finally submit and lock. No changes will be possible after locking the choice.
    3. After the last date of choice, the filling is over, and the seat allotment list will be declared online.

    Step-5: Seat allotment

    1. Log in to the website. Your seat allotment status will be displayed.

    2. If you accept the allotment letter:-

    • But do not join or resign after joining. You’re eligible for second counselling but will forfeit your security deposit.
    • Join the college you’ll remain eligible for second counselling to upgrade your seat without losing your seat. If your seat is elevated, then the previous allotment will be automatic.
    • The online process will do the seat allotment on a merit cum option basis.

    3. Physically disabled category candidates must be physically present before the medical board constituted by dates will be available on https://bfuhs.ac.in/ website.

    4. Candidates eligible for the reserved category will be given admission as per rules of the state government, applicable on the date of counselling.

    5. OBC candidates covered by the provisions of the creamy layer will not be entitled to the benefits of the OBC category.

    6. Candidates who fail to produce required original documents at the time of admission or, if any, concealment or falsification of facts comes into the light at the time of admission and after that during the study will not be entitled to any benefit of having appeared in the entrance examination. Any use of acquiring a seat Legal action would be taken against such candidates.

    7. Candidates will be checked for their identity at admission. If it does not match, it will be counted as unfair, and their candidature will be cancelled. Additional legal action would be taken against such candidates.

    8. If the candidate does not participate in online counselling or does not join the allotted seat by the due date, they shall forfeit any right of admission based on said counselling/allotment.

    9. The option once exercised by the candidate in the online counselling cannot be altered under any circumstances.

    10. No request for re-allotment of seats allotted in the first and second rounds will be entertained.
