About Karnataka NEET PG Counselling:

Karnataka NEET PG counselling 2026 is the centralized admission process organized by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for postgraduate medical courses, including MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses in both government and private medical colleges across Karnataka. Conducted in coordination with MCC, this streamlined process ensures fair and merit-based seat allocation.

Karnataka offers several categories of seats, including:

Karnataka Candidate Quota: Reserved for candidates who have completed MBBS from medical colleges within Karnataka, whether in government or private institutions. Eligibility for these seats is typically based on domicile or regional criteria.

All India Quota (AIQ): Seats reserved for NEET PG qualified candidates across India.

Other State Quotas: Seats reserved for candidates from other states or specific categories such as NRI, Management, or Sponsored candidates, especially in private colleges.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria

01 Basic Mandatory Eligibility

  1. Citizenship / Nationality: Must be an Indian Citizen, OCI, PIO, NRI, or Foreign National (subject to specific quota guidelines).
  2. NEET-PG / NEET-MDS Qualification: Must qualify NEET-PG / NEET-MDS with a score equal to or above the prescribed qualifying cutoff percentile set by NBE for the respective academic year.
  3. Qualifying Degree: Must possess an MBBS / BDS Degree or Provisional Pass Certificate from an institution recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) / Dental Council of India (DCI).
  4. Internship Completion: Must have completed or be completing the 1-year Compulsory Rotating Resident Internship (CRRI) on or before the deadline prescribed by KEA.
  5. Council Registration: Must possess a valid Permanent or Provisional Registration Certificate issued by NMC/DCI or any State Medical/Dental Council.
  6. Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGE): Candidates with MBBS from outside India must have cleared the FMGE examination conducted by NBE and completed their internship.
Important: Candidates must satisfy all applicable eligibility requirements before participating in the counselling process.

02 Karnataka State / Government Quota Eligibility

To claim Government Quota Seats (G Seats) or State Reservation benefits, candidates must fulfill any ONE of the applicable KEA eligibility clauses.
  1. Clause-A – Karnataka Medical/Dental Graduates: Candidates who have studied and passed MBBS/BDS from a recognized institution located in the State of Karnataka.
  2. Clause-B – 10-Year Study + MBBS from Karnataka: Candidates who passed MBBS/BDS from Karnataka and have studied in Karnataka for at least 10 academic years (from 1st Std to 12th Std).
  3. Clause-C – 10-Year Study + MBBS Outside Karnataka: Candidates who passed MBBS/BDS from outside Karnataka, but have studied in Karnataka for a minimum of 10 academic years (from 1st Std to 12th Std) and passed SSLC/10th or 2nd PUC/12th from Karnataka State.
  4. Clause-D / E / G – Defense / Union Govt / Service Domicile: Children of All India Service Karnataka cadre officers, Union/State Govt employees, or Defense personnel who satisfy the Karnataka domicile / hometown declaration and minimum study conditions.
  5. Clause-Y – Non-Karnataka Candidates for Open Quota: Indian citizens who studied and passed MBBS/BDS outside Karnataka are eligible for Private / Management / Institutional Seats (P, N, Q Seats) in private colleges.
  6. Clause-Z – NRI / OCI / PIO / Foreign Nationals: Eligible to apply under the NRI / Others Quota seats, subject to applicable rules.

03 Special Quotas & Reservations

  1. Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, SC, ST Reservation: Applicable only to candidates of Karnataka Domicile who possess a valid Caste/Income Certificate containing an RD Number.
  2. 371(j) Kalyana-Karnataka Reservation: Candidates must produce an eligibility certificate issued by the concerned Assistant Commissioner (AC).
  3. Linguistic / Religious Minority: Candidates must belong to the specified minority group (e.g., Tamil, Telugu, Kodava, Tulu, or Religious Minority) and meet the Karnataka study / domicile rules prescribed by KEA.
Note: Eligibility, reservation, domicile and quota conditions are subject to the latest KEA notification, information bulletin and applicable government regulations for the respective counselling year.

6 Internship Completion Certificate Completed candidates must submit the Internship Completion Certificate. Candidates completing internship may submit the Provisional Certificate and are eligible up to Round 1, subject to meeting the prescribed deadline.
7 NMC / DCI Recognition Certificate Certificate/statement confirming recognition of the institution.
8 Registration Certificate State/Central Medical or Dental Council Registration Certificate. Provisional registration is accepted for recent graduates and permanent registration for earlier pass-outs.
9 Undertaking / Affidavit Undertaking/Affidavit on ₹200 e-Stamp paper.
