B J Medical College, Ahmedabad was established in the year 1946 and formerly it was known as B. J. Medical School. The institute got affiliated to Bombay University. Later on in the year 1951, for its undergraduate courses, the college got affiliated to Gujarat University and in 1956 it got affiliated to Gujarat University for its postgraduate courses. B J Medical College, Ahmedabad is a centre for the National Board of Medical Examinations.
