COLLEGE OF VETERINARY AND ANIMAL SCIENCES, UDGIR was established in the year 1987 vide Maharashtra Government Resolution No. MKV-1086/CR-128-A dated 17th September 1987, under Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani.
The Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU) was formally notified on 17th November, 2000 and was established under the Maharashtra State Act No. 1998 (MAH.XVII of 1998) on 3rd December, 2000 with its headquarter at Nagpur. After the establishment of Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU), Nagpur, the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Udgir was transferred to MAFSU, Nagpur as a constituent college.
