SVIMS, Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women was established in the year 2014 with an annual intake of 150 students for MBBS Degree Course. It is the second government medical college in India exclusively for only women students.
The Government of Andhra Pradesh has issued revised / revalidated Essentiality Certificate (dt:17.09.2013) to SVIMS Sri Padmavathi Medical College for women for starting MBBS Course with 150 admissions in the SVIMS premises, Tirupati. Further, the TTDs was kind enough in allotting 50 acres of land, in addition to the existing 57.04 acres within the campus. An extent of 26.2 acres of vacant land is utilized for developing the facilities like Medical College, Teaching Hospital, Library and Residential complex by APMSIDC, Govt. of A.P.
The Buildings of the Medical College, Teaching Hospital (SVIMS University), Students Hostels, Staff Quarters, College of Nursing, College of Physiotherapy and other Buildings are housed in a Unitary Campus. The major land marks near the Medical College are Tirupati Regional Science Centre and Opposite to Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan School and Alipiri Special Police Protection Force.
