Maharajah's Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS), Vizianagaram was established in 2003.

Its Affiliated to NTR University of Health Sciences.

The college is sponsored by the Sri Rama Educational Trust. The main objective of Maharajah's Institute of Medical Sciences is to promote the best in medical education & to produce doctors with global standards while providing affordable health care to the needy people of the society on non-profit basis with state-of-the-art facilities and modern medical equipment.

The objectives of Sri Rama Educational are to establish institutions for physically handicapped and the disabled, to maintain homes for the aged and orphans and to provide relief and assistance to victims of natural calamities.

The teaching staff of the college consists of many renowned professionals from Andhra Pradesh and other neighboring states.

The college is situated in amidst pristine surroundings at Nellimarla in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh.

The college and the hospital are situated in a sprawling campus and have a total built-up area of 9, 00,000 sq.ft comprising of 13 buildings. College consists of two blocks of 1, 10,000 sq.ft and 90,000 sq.ft respectively.
